Price Philanthropies provides funding for the implementation of an integrative preschool model at Rosa Parks Elementary. The goal is to prepare students to be ready to learn the first day they walk into Kindergarten.
The program emphasizes language acquisition skills through play and incorporates speech pathologists working with students, teachers, and parents. Parents are engaged to take an active role in developing their child’s language skills at home.
San Diego State University administers the program through the City Heights Educational Collaborative which includes English language learners, kids from low income families, and kids with speech and language disorders.
