Social Work Centers

Social Work Centers follow a community school-based model approach to help families at Rosa Parks Elementary and Monroe Clark Middle. At Hoover High, social workers work in the Health Center to provide wrap around services with the medical team.

Social work services focus on family wellness with an emphasis on ensuring students and families have the strengths and resources necessary for success in school and in the community.  Services include but are not limited to: (1) individual, family, and group counseling; (2) case management; (3) referrals to school and community resources; (4) advocacy; (5) family support; (6) outreach and interventions for families with attendance issues; and (7) coordinating wellness services for students and families.

Social Work Centers partner with the Schools of Social Work at San Diego State University, University of Southern California, and Point Loma Nazarene University to supervise interns on school sites to expand the services they are able to provide to families.
