The Metro Center consists of two distinct projects: an office building and a housing project, both completed in November 2004. The housing project, Metro Villas, maintains 120 rental units located at 39th Street and Polk Avenue. The 82,000 square foot office building, Metro Career Center, is occupied by San Diego Workforce Partnership, a charter school, and a bank.
Price Charities assembled multiple parcels and secured permits to put the project together. It sold a portion of the land to City Heights Community Development Corporation to build and operate the Metro Villas. Price Charities developed the office building after negotiating a long-term lease with San Diego Workforce Partnership. Price Charities later sold the building to a private developer.back to top
