Price Community Builder Fellowship Program
The goals of this program were: to build capacity at City Heights nonprofit organizations, to educate social work students in nonprofit management, and to encourage students to obtain a master’s degree in social work.
Each year the program provided paid internships for five to six SDSU students who spent 11 months working at City Heights nonprofits. After completing the internship, students were expected to pursue a master’s degree in social work at SDSU and received a $5,000 scholarship.
The program ended when an increasing number of nonprofits were unable to match Price’s contribution to the salaries of the paid interns and not as many interns were pursuing Master’s degrees as expected.back to top
